Would you like to stay at a campsite in Gruissan or in the surrounding area? The Domaine de La Palme welcomes you for camping holidays in the Aude, only 35 minutes from Gruissan.
Gruissan is a historical town, fishing village and seaside resort in the Aude region, about forty kilometres from the Domaine de La Palme. You can discover the village's lively past when faced with pirates and its archaeological interest by visiting the 11th century castle. The narrow streets and squares of Gruissan are also worth a walk, cycle ride or barge ride on the Robine canal with its pretty flowered bridges. To admire the estuary and the town, there is nothing better than a diversion to the quiet Notre Dame des Auzils chapel. Dedicated to fishermen, it is surrounded by pine trees which hide a lovely path dotted with sailors' graves. Gruissan is also very popular for its beaches on the Aude. The long, child-friendly Grazel beach faces the typical Chalets beach. Close to the centre and bordered by a paved path that can easily be skated on, this lively beach is next to a village of chalets on stilts. A visit to the salt works on the Ile Saint-Martin is a must if you want to understand the marine history of Gruissan, take a breath of Occitan air, taste some oysters and local wines such as Picpoul, and buy salt and fresh fish from the fishermen's huts.
